PRODUCTION STATEMENT

I will never forget my first encounter with the Heaven Can Wait choir. The energy of the older gentlemen completely filled the St. Pauli Theater.

The director Sven Halfar and I sat together for hours after the concert and speculating about the reasons for what we had just experienced. What had touched us so much? Was it this unexpected energy ? We agreed that we wanted to hear and learn more about this special choir and about the people behind it. The idea of a movie was born.

The songs performed by the choir making this film relevant for young and old alike. Because no matter how old you are, it is an immeasurable pleasur to watch these vital people when you learn what an arduous journey some of them have made to finally get up there on the stage, happy and fulfilled.
